We’re Almost There! Just $37,000 to go!
Once again NFRT supporters have been overwhelmingly generous and we have now raised over $463,000 towards securing and protecting a 133-hectare wetland property in north Taranaki.
The total purchase price for the property is $500,000. $250,000 of this was secured through an incredibly generous donation by the Lowe family, with an additional $213,000 (to date) coming from our public campaign and some bequest funding.
What that all means is that we’re now down to the final $37,000 to raise, which is just over 7% of the total purchase price!
The property has been identified as a Regionally Significant Wetland and a Key Native Ecosystem by Taranaki Regional Council and a Significant Natural Area by New Plymouth District Council. As a result of development and farming, there is less than 10% of this particular type of habitat left in the region, making this remnant an incredibly valuable part of the ecosystem.
Your donation could make all the difference and help protect this wetland forever.
